Experienced choral singers and trained vocalists looking for an opportunity to join an ensemble are invited to audition for LCS! Auditions for the spring season are held in early January, while auditions for the winter season are held in August. Rehearsal Info:
Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. in Lancaster, PA. We schedule (2) 4-hour long Saturday rehearsals each season. Members are expected to work on the repertoire independently to ensure preparedness. Rehearsals are held Sept. through early Dec. and Jan. through early May. We typically sing 2 or 3 concerts at Christmas and in the spring, with occasional additional concerts. Concerts usually take place on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
Audition Info:
Please prepare a solo piece to sing. This can be anything you feel shows your voice at its best. There will be an accompanist available. Please do not plan to accompany yourself. Alongside your solo piece, an audition panel will evaluate your range, voice quality, sight-reading ability, and tonal memory. You will then be asked to sing a commonly known piece to demonstrate your artistic expression. The panel will include several ensemble members and the conductor. You also may be asked to sing with a quartet from the ensemble to assess your ability to blend. Candidates receive audition results within a few days of the audition date.
